For our last BBQ we desided to change the regular locality – it took part in Tamarama Beach. This cosy, lovely sandy beach is placed right between the two Australia’s most famous beaches Bondi and Bronte. Some of us walked the spectacular clifftop path from Bondi or Bronte to Tamarama and joined the others who already had tasted the self-prepared barbeque lunch. At this time we couldn’t wish a better weather, the sun was shining and we just relaxed, enjoyed the beautiful seaview with a few surfers and talked about our life here, in Australia. Our menu was simple yet delicious: chicken and pork steaks with european bread and salat, plenty of beer, soft drinks and some local wine. Frankfurters were available for all who still were hungry. Although the weather suddenly changed and it began to rain, we decided not to care a chip about it and played some games under the secure shed of the picnic place. Later on a group of brazilian students came to the same place to have their own BBQ party, it was great and funny to meet them. Some of hungry WSIA students grilled the last frankfurters together with them and tasted the meat the Brazilians prepared. We finished the afternoon at sunset and walked together to Bronte to catch the late bus. It was already cold and we had to use all the jumpers we had. It was a nice BBQ party with a mixed team of older and fresh new australian students and I hope to see all of you soon. |
