Traveling around Australia

I came to Australia from Japan on working holiday VISA on 15th July 2001, and I learned English for 6 weeks at English school. After graduation on 30the Oct 2001 I began to travel around Australia. It took 8 months from Oct 2001 to May 2002 by car, which I bought for $3000. It was a really great time for me. So, I would like to share with you some information about the best scenery of Australia.

Firstly, as all of you know, the Australian symbol is Uluru (Ayers Rock), which is situated 3000 km from Sydney. The price for flight from Sydney is around  $800. Even if you would decide to go there from Alice Springs, which is the nearest town town, it will cost you around  $300.

I went there by my car, so I spent much more time to get there, but anyway I could enjoy whole desert for whole three days, because it took me three days to get there. :-)  I paid $17 per night for campsite and $18 for entrance of Uluru national park.  The most beautiful part of my trip was that I could climb on the Ayers Rock by myself. It was unbelievable experience, which I would recommend to everybody. If you don’t like climbing you can enjoy “small” walk around the Ayers Rock. (approximately 10 km). You can also see a lot of heritage places, which Aboriginal people call “saint places”.

Secondly, most favourite place of mine is White Heaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. It is located near Airlie Beach in Queensland. It is a wonderful place, which I have never seen before. You have a lot of possibilities how to see this beauty. You can choose boat for $75 or flight by small plane for $280.  I have chosen the small plane and can tell you it was absolutely amazing. At least you can judge it by yourself, just look at my photos. From the plane I could see both White heaven beach and Great Barrier Reef.

Thirdly, I will introduce you Western Australia. You can see a sunset view everywhere because of facing to the Indian Ocean and the weather, especially in summer, when everyday is sunny and hot.

I have visited Perth as well. I took me three days by train from Sydney with my car on the train as well, but if I could say, it is not really good idea to buy the cheapest ticket without bed, because if you have to sit whole three days, you will be very tired and when you get off the train you won’t want continue your travelling unless you have some friends in Perth, so you can take few days rest.

If you will have a chance to visit Perth and you will have enough time, I would recommend you to go to Esperance. This is the most beautiful beach in Australia, more beautiful than the famous Bondi Beach, which I have ever seen. It took me 12 hours from Perth by car, but believe me it is wealth to see it.

Finally, there are two another symbols in Australia such as Opera house or Harbour Bridge. These are also great, however human built them, but by the natural scene people feel big inspiration.

I would wish you to see it all by your own eyes, if you would have a chance some day. Australia is amazing land.))
