Maewill English College MEC has been in operation since June 1996. MEC is owned and operated by partners Mr. William Salsbury and Ms. Mae Connor. The principal, Mr. Salsbury, and Director of Studies, Ms. Connor are committed to providing both a friendly and professionally disciplined environment for students. Students from all over the world have become part of the Maewill family. From the beginning the college has had a strong academic focus, preparing students to go on to high school, vocational training college and university. MEC have placed hundreds of students at local high schools on Sydney’s northern beaches. Students have also gone on to the most prestigious universities in Sydney and around the world. MEC prepare students for world-renowned examinations such as IELTS, and Cambridge FCE and CAE. Students are also able to choose to study in a General English stream for short or long term courses. Location MEC is located at 14 William Street Brookvale NSW 2100 in an area of Sydney known as the Northern beaches. The college is 5 to 10 minutes by car from some of Sydney and Australia’s most beautiful beaches. The college occupies the entire top floor of the building. The building is a short 5 minutes walk from the large Warringah Mall shopping complex and bus interchange with express buses connecting us to all parts of Sydney. The Warringah Mall Shopping complex provides students with a wide range of retail and service shops that will cater to their every need. The college is only 5 minutes by car to the popular tourist area of Manly. But we are far enough away so that students do not feel like tourists. They can choose to go to and from this beautiful seaside suburb – but do not have to be there every day. Away from Manly, the Northern beaches is made up of many suburbs surrounded by natural bush land where many of our students choose to stay with Australian families or they may choose to live closer to the coast in reasonably priced apartment accommodation.
